One Platform, Every Department: Unifying Data Without Losing Control
Problem
Sales, support, HR, and recruiting each worked from their own version of the numbers. Leadership could not get a clear answer to a simple question — "how are we actually doing?" — without someone manually combining spreadsheets. By the time that was done, the numbers were already out of date.
Solution
I designed one analytics system that pulls live data from CRM, Desk, People, and Recruiting into shared dashboards, with each role seeing what is relevant to them. The hard part was not connecting the systems — it was the data modeling: agreeing on what "performance" means across departments that do not naturally use the same terms, and setting up access rules so each team sees only what they need, with nothing extra and nothing they should not see.
Outcome
- Executive-level KPI visibility in real time instead of end-of-month reporting
- One shared, reliable source of data across four systems that used to be separate
- A data model that can grow to include new departments or systems without starting over
