From Signature to Storage: Automating the Full Contract Lifecycle
Problem
Contracts moved through many manual steps. Sales created documents by hand, signatures were chased over email, signed copies were stored in different places, and renewals were tracked — or missed — from memory. Every point where the contract passed to someone else was a chance for the deal to stall or a compliance gap to open up.
Solution
I built a single automated system connecting Zoho CRM, Zoho Sign, and Zoho WorkDrive, covering the whole contract process. Contracts are generated automatically, pulling live data from the CRM into templates. Signature requests go out with multi-step signing and automatic reminders. Once a contract is signed, that status updates in the CRM right away, which starts the next step without anyone checking by hand. Signed documents are saved and filed automatically in WorkDrive, linked to the right CRM record, and the system flags renewals well before they are due.
The goal was not only speed — it was keeping a clear record. At any point, you can see a contract's full status, history, and who signed it. That matters a great deal when legal or compliance teams need answers quickly.
